2025-2026 Dempsey Back to School Information
6th grade orientations are on Wednesday, August 6th, between 8:00am and 2:45pm.
In late July, families will receive emailed information identifying students' team assignments and orientation times. Attendance at orientation is not required, but families can view the building, meet staff, and practice lockers.
Orientation times for 6th graders are assigned by teams and last approximately one hour. Families can arrive anytime during the orientation time period.
Team 6-1: 8:00am - 9:15am
Team 6-2: 9:30am - 10:45am
Team 6-3: 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Team 6-4: 1:30pm - 2:45pm
Families of 6th graders who cannot attend orientation can also pick up schedules and view the building on Wednesday (8/6) between 5pm - 7pm, or on Thursday (8/7) between 9am - 11am.
7th and 8th grade families can come during the following times to pick up schedules, find lockers, meet teachers, pay fees, and turn in required forms:
- 7th graders can meet teachers and visit classrooms between 5:00pm and 6:15pm on August 6th.
- 8th graders can meet teachers and visit classrooms between 5:45pm and 7:00pm on August 6th.
- The building will also be open between 9-11am on Thursday, August 7th, for any student who cannot come during the above times.
A reminder to 7th grade families that there are two required vaccinations for incoming 7th graders: Tdap & meningococcal meningitis. Dempsey will again partner with the Delaware General Health District to host an immunization clinic from 5pm - 7pm on Wednesday, August 6th. More details will be shared soon.
The first day of school for all Dempsey students is Wednesday, August 13th.
Lifetouch School Picture Day for all students is Tuesday, August 19th.
Back to School Forms
Delaware City Schools has implemented an online forms portal for parents to complete the majority of back to school forms. In early August, parents can sign into their PowerSchool Parent Account (the same account used to monitor grades) and click on forms.
