Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Dempsey!
6th grade orientations are on Wednesday, August 7th, from 8am until 2:45pm.
Families receive emailed information identifying students' team assignments and orientation times. Attendance at orientation is not required, but families will have the opportunity to view the building, meet staff, and practice lockers.
Orientation times are assigned by team and last approximately one hour. Families can arrive anytime during the orientation time period.
Team 6-1: 8:00am - 9:15am
Team 6-2: 9:30am - 10:45am
Team 6-3: 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Team 6-4: 1:30pm - 2:45pm
Families of 6th graders who are unable to be at orientation can also attend on Wednesday (8/7) between 4:30pm and 7pm, or on Thursday (8/8) between 8:30am - 11am or 2pm - 4pm.
7th and 8th grade families can choose from the following times to pick up schedules, pay fees, and turn in required forms:
- Wednesday, August 7th, from 4:30pm - 7pm
- Thursday, August 8th, from 8:30am - 11am & 2pm - 4pm
A reminder to 7th grade families that there are two required vaccinations for incoming 7th graders: Tdap & meningococcal meningitis. Dempsey will again partner with the Delaware General Health District to host an immunization clinic from 4:30pm - 7pm on Wednesday, August 7th. See the flier for registration
On Tuesday, August 27th, families of 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend Open House between 5:00pm - 6:30pm to meet teachers and view the building.
LifeTouch School Picture Day for all students is Tuesday, August 20.
Back to School Forms
Delaware City Schools has implemented an online forms portal for parents to complete the majority of back to school forms. In early August, parents can sign into their PowerSchool Parent Account (the same account used to monitor grades) and click on E-collect forms.
